From the the first email I received from Betsy inquiring about wedding photography, I knew I wanted to photograph her wedding. Betsy explained that she and Matt wanted to get married down on the river near her future home site. I was sold! It wasn’t until later, when I did Matt and Betsy’s engagement photos near the river that I realized how special that land was to the Jarrels family. When the weather is nice the family gathers by the river on Sundays to share a meal and spend time with each other. It truly is special to get married in a spot that means so much to the couple and family.
Leading up to the week of the wedding it was calling for a 100% chance of rain on the wedding day, which would totally change the wedding plan. The couple would have to tie the knot under a tent rather than their beautiful ceremony site location by the river. SO when Saturday came along it was a miracle that the rain held off through the ceremony, family portraits, and portraits of Betsy and Matt. As we were finishing up portraits it started to rain. It worked out so perfectly!
Betsy is such an organized bride and everything about the day went so smoothly, and everyone involved was so nice. What an ideal wedding! The tent reception was beautiful. It was filled with so many of Betsy and Matt’s closest friends and family. I’m grateful that I was able to celebrate with you Matt and Betsy. I wish you so much happiness together!
