Staunton Senior Portrait Session

Staunton Senior Portrait Session

I've known Lexi since she was in elementary school, it was a special experience to take her senior portraits now that she's entering a new phase of life. Lexi is a animal lover if you can't tell! I didn't have to do a lot of convincing to get her to take pictures with almost every farm animal we could find. Her lavender flower crown was perfect with her lace dress! What a fun session! Now I might have to buy some bunnies as photo props. How perfect is that bunny with Lexi!

A Historic Downtown Staunton and Stuarts Draft Engagement Session

It's so awesome how God works out the stories of different couples. I went to school with Megan's sisters in college, and my long time friends brother is Tyler. I was excited when I first heard that Megan and Tyler were dating, they quickly figured out that they were a great match for each other. They are now tying the knot in October! It's going to be a fun wedding! I'm pretty certain I can say that when it's time for family portraits I will know most of the family by first name! That's going to be so helpful and fun!

I was thinking this week about what a lot of my brides have in common and I came up with creativeness and artistic ability. Megan is an artist through and through. She graduated recently with an art degree and she is particularly talented at making pottery. I know her wedding is going to be well thought out and beautiful!

I loved the two locations Megan and Tyler picked for their session. Downtown Staunton offers so many great backdrop options, and you can't go wrong with an open field on family property near Sunset. So looking forward to celebrating with this adorable couple! Their joy and laughter was easy to capture.

The Omni Homestead Resort Bridal Session with Jessie

A few weekends ago Jessie and Patrick were married, so now I can finally share Jessie’s AMAZING bridal portraits!

When I met Jessie for her bridal session at The Homestead in Hot Springs, VA, I knew that we were going to have a blast. The Homestead has endless spots to shoot beautiful photos, and with Jessie’s classic bridal look it couldn’t have been more perfect (and her dress had pockets!). Jessie is also absolutely delightful to work with, and by the end of her session our faces hurt from smiling so much. You could tell that Jessie just radiated joy because people couldn’t help but stop and tell her how absolutely stunning she was. One man even jumped into a picture with her, how funny!

One particularly fun moment was when we were walking into the lobby from taking pictures outside and to our surprise Monte, from Say Yes to the Dress was standing there! He said he had been admiring Jessie’s dress choice while we had been taking pictures on the steps, and he made sure to praise her choice of a dress with a keyhole back. Of course, we made sure to snap a picture of them together!

It has been such a joy to be part of such an exciting time in Jessie and Patrick’s life, and I have loved working with them! I can’t wait to see what life has in store for this wonderful couple!
